AITO M7 Pro Launched Starting at RMB 249,800; 3,000 Units to Be Delivered in First Week

On August 26, the Hongmengzhixing AITO M7 Pro was launched with an official price range of RMB 249,800 to RMB 289,800.

The AITO M7 Pro five-seat variant features an effective interior length of 3,338 mm. The front seatbacks can recline up to 69°, enabling a dual-person rest mode. With the front headrests removed and aligned with the rear seat cushions, the maximum longitudinal space reaches 1,897 mm, allowing two adults to lie flat in beach-chair mode. The first- and second-row seats can also be combined to create a large flat-space mode measuring 3 m by 1.5 m.

In terms of smart cabin technology, the AITO M7 Pro offers a Magic Space created through the integration of HarmonyOS and HUAWEI Maglink. The HUAWEI Maglink magnetic attachment is detachable and reattachable, supporting functions such as front-rear screen interaction, video handoff, and independent Bluetooth channels.

Regarding powertrain and chassis, the AITO M7 Pro utilizes the HUAWEI DriveONE range-extender electric drive platform, achieving a zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.2 seconds. It features newly upgraded CDC (Continuous Damping Control) continuously variable damping shock absorbers with three adjustable modes to adapt to different road conditions.

Additionally, the AITO M7 Pro is equipped with HUAWEI DATS 2.0 (Dynamic Adaptive Torque System). Based on this hardware and software upgrade and tuning expertise from Huawei Deguoyanjiusuo, the AITO M7 achieves a moose test speed of 75.5 km/h, effectively enhancing driving stability and safety.

In terms of passive safety, submarine-grade hot-formed steel with a tensile strength of up to 2,000 MPa accounts for 24.4% of the AITO M7 Pro’s body structure; high-strength steel and aluminum alloys account for 80.6%. Among these, the core skeleton structure of the front occupant compartment is made entirely (100%) of submarine-grade hot-formed steel.

Regarding the battery, the AITO M7 Pro is equipped with a 38.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. It charges from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes and offers a combined range of 1,290 km.

In terms of active safety, the forward automatic emergency braking (AEB) on the AITO M7 Pro operates within a speed range of 4–130 km/h, with an increased maximum braking speed of 110 km/h. The side collision avoidance system activates between 40 and 130 km/h. According to official data, the AITO M7 series prevented potential collisions more than 260,000 times between September 2023 and August 2024.

The AITO M7 Pro features the Huawei ADS Basic intelligent driving assistance system. Unlike the higher-tier ADS version, the basic system lacks a LiDAR sensor and does not support urban NCA (Navigation Cruise Assist). However, it enables NCA functionality on highways and urban expressways without relying on high-definition maps.

For smart parking, the AITO M7 Pro supports over 160 parking scenarios. It also features a class-exclusive custom parking function that allows parking wherever a space is available. For tight spots, users can remotely control the vehicle to park or unpark via smartphone, enhancing operational convenience.

At the launch event, SERES President He Liyang stated that the company aims to deliver 3,000 units of the AITO M7 Pro during its first week on the market, with monthly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units in the first month.

On the day of the launch, Hongmengzhixing’s next model, the Zhijie R7, made its debut.

The Zhijie R7 measures 4,956 mm in length, 1,981 mm in width, and 1,634 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Featuring a coupe-style SUV body design, Richard Yu announced on site that the Zhijie R7 has achieved the lowest drag coefficient among globally mass-produced SUVs.

In terms of "three-electric" capabilities, the Zhijie R7 achieves a "dual 800" configuration: it features Huawei's "Giant Whale" 800 V high-voltage battery platform and offers a maximum CLTC range of 802 km. Built on the Turing platform, the entire Zhijie R7 lineup comes standard with CDC continuously variable damping shock absorbers and air suspension.

Additionally, the Zhijie R7 will also be equipped with the Huawei ADS 3.0 autonomous driving system.

Quick Review:

The launch of the AITO New M7 Pro has further lowered the price of the AITO M7 series equipped with Huawei's intelligent driving system, bringing it down to RMB 249,900. Consequently, the sales volume of the AITO M7 series has the potential to rise further.

Currently, the AITO M7 series has delivered more than 210,000 units. To ramp up sales of the new model quickly, after undergoing upgrades and renovations at the SERES factory, the AITO M7 Pro plans to deliver 3,000 units in its first week on the market and over ten thousand units in its first month, underscoring Huawei and SERES's confidence in the AITO M7 Pro.

Li Auto Releases Q2 2024 Financial Report, Revenue RMB 31.7 Billion

Li Auto released its financial results for the second quarter of 2024 on August 28. Key figures include:

Total revenue reached RMB 31.7 billion in the second quarter, representing a year-over-year increase of 10.6% and a quarter-over-quarter growth of 23.6%;

Total vehicle deliveries amounted to 108,581 units, up 25.5% compared to the same period last year;‍

Vehicle gross margin was 18.7%, compared to 21.0% in the same period last year and 19.3% in the first quarter of this year;

Gross profit amounted to RMB 6.2 billion, a decrease of 0.9% year-over-year and an increase of 16.9% quarter-over-quarter;

The overall gross margin stood at 19.5%, down from 21.8% in the same period last year and 20.6% in the first quarter of 2024;

For third-quarter deliveries, Li Auto’s estimate is between 145,000 and 155,000 units, representing growth of 38.0% to 47.5% compared to the third quarter of 2023.

Overall, Li Auto’s revenue and delivery volumes are growing, but both its overall gross margin and vehicle gross margin are declining, likely due to the launch of lower-priced models. During the earnings call following the financial report release, we obtained several key pieces of information:

Hongmengzhixing is Li Auto’s strongest competitor in the market. Xiang Li believes that the two companies will coexist healthily in the long term, and Li Auto will continue to learn from Huawei’s technological R&D system and operational management framework.

Regarding Li Auto’s pure electric SUVs, Xiang Li stated that the next challenge is product styling design. By the time pure electric products are delivered, Li Auto expects to provide users with access to more than 2,000 supercharging stations, aiming to enter the top tier of the high-end pure electric vehicle market within two years.

Regarding Li Auto’s upcoming pure electric model for next year, Donghui Ma indicated that multiple small-batch prototype tests have been completed, the production facility for full vehicles has been built, and the overall progress of supply chain capacity preparation can meet sales demand. Core components are undergoing performance testing, and there is confidence in ensuring on-schedule deliveries for the pure electric model.

Li Auto's end-to-end model progress and performance have exceeded expectations. Starting in July, a thousand-user early access test was launched; the model has now iterated through nine versions, with training data volume increasing from an initial 1 million to 2.3 million. A larger-scale test involving 10,000 users is expected in September.

Li Auto is actively leveraging online marketing channels such as Douyin to boost sales and ensure efficiency.
