AITO Series Vehicles Receive OTA Update for Nationwide Urban Autonomous Driving
On February 2, the Hongmengzhixing App announced that AITO series models will begin an OTA upgrade, adding twelve new features and optimizing more than twelve user experiences. The most significant upgrade in this OTA is the urban intelligent driving navigation assistance, which can be used nationwide. This feature does not rely on high-definition maps and supports all city roads (main roads, secondary roads, branch roads, etc.), national highways, county roads, township roads, and other public roads, with ninety-nine percent of available road segments covered. Some owners have set up routes spanning China via navigation, choosing to avoid expressways; for ninety-nine percent of the journey, intelligent driving can be used. In other words, it basically means the system can drive on any road. The second major upgrade involves forward and lateral active safety functions. The upper limit for the forward AEB braking reaction speed is 120 km/h. Lateral active safety has also been upgraded: between 40 km/h and 120 km/h, if the vehicle deviates from its lane and there is a risk of collision with obstacles such as water barriers, traffic cones, curbs, or fences on the roadside, the vehicle will trigger emergency steering intervention for lateral obstacle collision prevention (LOCP). Other function upgrades:
Upgraded Lane Cruise Control Plus (LCC Plus), which can recognize traffic lights and stop, then start again.
The vehicle automatically matches the flow of traffic speed, avoiding both excessive slowing and speeding.
Upgraded ADS 3D view, capable of identifying special vehicles.
A new intelligent driving status island has been added, displaying the system's intentions on the map.
New traffic capacity enhancement features are added, with higher intelligent obstacle avoidance efficiency.
Upgrade the valet parking assist (AVP).
Upgraded Intelligent Parking Assist (APA), with parking efficiency improved by ten percent.
A new Huawei Intelligent Driving app has been added, merging navigation routes for intelligent driving and manual driving into a single display.
Xiaoyi Smart Refueling allows users to select fuel grade and refueling amount inside the vehicle without getting out.
Xiaoyi voice commands have been upgraded to control NetEase Cloud Music and Kugou Music functions.
Tesla Model Y Receives Upgrade
On February 1, the Tesla Model Y received an upgrade with two main changes. First, it is equipped with the new Hardware 4.0 (HW4.0) autonomous driving hardware, featuring updated computing chips and sensor hardware. Second, three new colors were introduced: Starlight Gray, Fast Silver, and Flame Red. The pricing for the upgraded models remains unchanged: RMB 258,900 for the Rear-Wheel Drive version, RMB 299,900 for the Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive Long Range version, and RMB 363,900 for the Performance version. The HW4.0 system offers five times the chip computing power of its predecessor, along with changes to sensors. The front-facing camera array has been reduced from three to two cameras, with a maximum perception distance of 424 meters. Additionally, the blind-spot monitoring camera resolution has been upgraded to 5 megapixels. HW4.0 also eliminates ultrasonic radar. The three new body colors—Starlight Gray, Fast Silver, and Flame Red—are available as optional extras for an additional cost of RMB 12,000.
