Writing by: Wu Jingtao

Although it was held at the last minute, there were few highlights.

On December 30th, after a 42-day delay, the 20th Guangzhou International Auto Show was finally held at the last minute in the year.

Although this year’s Guangzhou Auto Show is likely to be the only A-class auto show held in China in 2022, due to doubts about the possibility of resuming the auto show after the previous postponement announcement, and the precedent of the Beijing Auto Show being cancelled after being postponed, many heavy new cars scheduled to be launched and released at the Guangzhou Auto Show have made adjustments to their schedules, which has had a significant impact on the auto show.

Today’s article will take stock of the key new energy vehicles worth focusing on at the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show.

AIWAYS Hyper GT

AIWAYS brought its second Hyper Haobai model, the high-end brand Hyper GT, to the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Unlike the flagship Hyper SSR previously released, the positioning of Hyper GT is a five-door coupe, which competes mainly against the 300,000-yuan Tesla Model 3. At the launch, AIWAYS even promoted the slogan “Model 3 has a real competitor”.

The new car is based on the AIWAYS’ new generation pure electric exclusive platform AEP 3.0 and is the first model of the Hyper series to adopt the star architecture.

Hyper GT not only ensures the design aesthetics but also achieves a breakthrough in the air resistance coefficient; the 0.19Cd air resistance coefficient is the lowest among current production cars. The front of the car is equipped with a full LED headlight with a bending and upward shape, and there is a set of sharply styled air intakes on both sides of the front bumper.

The side of the car has a shorter front/rear suspension, which creates a strong sense of sportiness in the vehicle’s appearance. It adopts a frameless door design and gullwing door opening.

The rear of the vehicle is also equipped with a three-stage curved electric wing and features a split-type taillight design with a black diffuser set below the rear bumper.

In terms of power, the new car is expected to be released in two versions: single-motor and dual-motor. Previously, officials revealed that the single-motor version has a 0-100km/h acceleration time of around 4 seconds, while the dual-motor version’s acceleration performance has yet to be disclosed. Additionally, Hyper GT is expected to feature 480kW fast charging and swapping capabilities.

In terms of handling, Hyper GT is equipped with AICS intelligent chassis technology, with a turning radius of less than 5.3 meters, the lowest in its class. Combined with advanced VDC2.0 technology, it can quickly react to changes in road grip and reduce signal transmission time from 100 milliseconds to 7-8 milliseconds, shortening it tenfold.

In terms of advanced driving assistance, Hyper GT will feature three second-generation variable-focus lidars (located on the roof and both sides of the wing).

In addition, there are 39 intelligent driving perception hardware components, including 12 ADAS cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars.

The new car follows the design concept of the CONCEPT-M concept car. The front of the car adopts a through-type LED daytime running light strip and a split-type headlight design. The outer side of the headlight group is connected to a set of chrome-plated decorative strips that are connected to the air intake grille below, and the entire front face has high recognition.

The overall profile of the car body is square, but on the door panel and D-pillar, the Hozon V09 design incorporates some inclined line elements to increase the visual hierarchy of the side of the car.

At the tail of the car, the V09 adopts a through-type taillight design with a strong three-dimensional sense, echoing the design of the front of the car.

In terms of intelligent cockpit, the new car is expected to use two 8155 chips and support four-screen linkage.

In terms of cruising range, the Hozon V09 is equipped with a 257Wh/kg high-capacity and high-energy density battery, which can achieve a range of 750+km. The entire system comes standard with an 800V high-voltage system, and the peak fast charging power can reach 380kW, which can achieve a replenishment performance of charging for 5 minutes and adding 200 kilometers of cruising range.

The new car will use the newly upgraded H-VIP 3.0 intelligent driving system, with 24 high-precision sensing hardware devices, achieving up to 37 ADAS driving assistance functions. The Hozon V09 will also become the world’s first mass-produced MPV model with a mounted laser radar capable of detecting up to 300m.

The details of the Hozon V09 cockpit design have not been announced yet, but Hozon announced at the press conference that it will work with the world’s top e-sports equipment brand, Razer, to create a mobile e-sports fortress for the Hozon V09.

The gaming laptop Razer Blade, a 165Hz refresh rate esports monitor, Chroma RGB lighting effects, and the Razer Professional Gaming Chair are included in the esports equipment.
