Giving a shout-out to the Xiaopeng G9! - a test drive experience share.

After the G9 was launched at the end of September, the first test drive window was during the National Day holiday. I had been looking forward to it for a long time, because the registration arrangement was postponed, and it wasn’t until the 6th that I finally got the chance to test drive it. The efficiency could be improved a little bit more as many car companies had already targeted the National Day holiday, and both Idealsee and NIO had launched new cars, Idealsee L8 and Feiyue R7, directly targeting the user group of G9. At this critical moment, it was even more necessary to take the lead and occupy a favorable position in the competition. Fortunately, XPeng did grasp the tail of the National Day holiday and arranged the test drive. The test drive car at Beijing Heshenghui was a gray 650MAX, with a good driving experience and complete sales introduction. Except for fast charging, I experienced all the publicity points. The driving control was great, and the auxiliary driving was smooth, which reflected XPeng’s accumulation in the field of intelligent driving. Originally, I ordered a white car body with five-spoke wheels, but now I think the gray car body with multi-spoke wheels is also cool, especially when running, multi-spoke wheels will be more dynamic. I’m still struggling with this… I hope XPeng’s friends can also give some suggestions.

I have been in contact with new energy vehicles for several years, and from paying attention to XPeng G9 last year to placing the first order before the festival, I felt XPeng’s sincerity as a user-oriented enterprise and the original intention of making good products. G9 is indeed a good bucket car.

I have test driven the Gaohe X, Idealsee L9, JiKe 001, NIO ES7, and Leapmotor C11. Although ES7 can change the battery, the endurance mileage is a bit low. In addition, auxiliary driving cannot be tested and the auxiliary driving of ES7 requires monthly fees.

L9 is indeed very comfortable, but most of my daily driving is more than 200 kilometers, the pure electric endurance is not enough. Although the car is big, the trunk is not big even if the third row is folded.

Until the appearance of G9, it completely moved me. It meets most of my requirements.Advantages: I test drove the 650 dual motor version, and the power was definitely responsive. However, I am the type of driver who prefers stability and does not have high demands for power. As for the range, I used the CLTC display (which shows that 650 is fully charged), subtracted the distance displayed by the navigation system from the range displayed on the CLTC, and calculated that the range of the 650 is approximately reduced to 85% of the original. Based on my test drive experience, which included uphill and downhill sections and the use of music, air conditioning, and assisted driving, my 650 can run about 550 kilometers. I am already very satisfied with this. The stability of the vehicle body was good, and it handled lane changes and turns very well. The seat wrapping was comfortable, and it provided good support during turns. As for assisted driving, I tested the NGP on a highway and found that the overtaking was prompt and the front and rear distances during lane changes were consistent with my own driving style (basically, when the rear car’s headlights appeared in my rear-view mirror, I changed lanes promptly). When there was a truck on the side but it did not change lanes, the G9 would delicately brake and wait for the truck to pass by before accelerating and overtaking. The front trunk space is also quite large (if it could be organized a little more and have a direct manual door instead of needing to open it below the steering wheel, that would be great. Sometimes, the front trunk is very practical when reversing into a garage). Except for the middle seat in the rear, all other seats are comfortable, and the top-level rear seats are equipped with massage and heating functions. The car can output electricity, it can be transformed into a bed with one button, and there are three modes (including a movie-watching mode achieved by folding down the front seats). A small surprise for me is that the center console has an air vent for drinks, which is very nice.
