Why Post and Why Choose This Car
1. Why Post
Apart from using various car apps during car selection, I personally do not use these apps very often and do not read reviews. Everyone’s environment, awareness, and financial situation are different, so their understanding of cars is also different. I am posting because there are points to be earned from posting, and points can be accumulated from posting different contents on different platforms. These points can be used to recharge. Although I may not care about these few hundred dollars in normal times, I just can’t resist the temptation when it comes to free charging. This activity is simply too good to miss out on.
I am not objective because of my environment, and other reviews are not objective because everyone has their own needs. Otherwise, why would they be maintained? Soaring Electric is maintaining me and providing free charging. I will share my car selection journey with everyone as a reference through several posts on different topics: car delivery, energy consumption of the car, charging power of the car, assisted driving features of the car, entertainment functions of the car, and why I chose to change to a battery swap model.
Please note, the staff at Soaring Electric who will be reviewing my posts.
2. Why Choose This Car
On November 24, 2021, the Ideal One arrived. As of October 1st of this year, the Ideal One has driven 24,000 kilometers, while the other car in my family, an Audi Q5L (purchased on June 20th, 2020), has driven only a little over 3,000 kilometers in the year since we purchased the Ideal One (we were locked down for 3 months this past year).
In July of this year, I had the idea to sell the Audi and switch to a pure electric vehicle. My requirements for the new car were as follows (please note that these are my requirements):
- Pure electric
- Low air resistance
- Preferably with a battery swap feature (not required)
- CLTC range of more than 600 kilometers (ranked in order of priority)
Having driven an electric car for a year, I learned that the faster you drive, the faster the battery consumption. The Ideal One’s battery temperature ranges from 30 degrees Celsius when charged from 20% to 100%, and the range per 10% of battery life depends on factors such as temperature, speed, route, altitude, air conditioning settings, and driving habits, ranging from 10 to 20 kilometers. From full charge to the start of the range extender, the distance traveled is between 80 and 160 kilometers (and may be even shorter, because the range extender is activated at 17% after an update, instead of 20%).
I have also performed a long test on Volkswagen and Audi’s pure electric vehicles, and the performance of electric cars is basically the same. If you have a range of more than 600 kilometers, you can run 300 kilometers at high speed, and you do not need to charge frequently. The National Grid charging station at the Henan section of the Jinggangao Expressway service area have a charging power of 60-80 kW, and the charging speed is not fast.
The cars that I have selected are listed in the following order of priority.1. BYD Tang, Han, and Sea Lion
- Enovate R7
- Avita 11
- XPeng G9
- NIO ES7, new ES6
My budget is quite broad, I can buy cars from 30 to 50. It depends on my needs.
10.1 During the October vacation, my partner was free, so we went to see the cars at the DRC. My partner thought the Enovate R7 was very beautiful with its frameless glass and sleek styling, so we bought it since it was close to our home and convenient for shopping.
I didn’t have the chance to see the remaining cars for selection. We chose Enovate R7 first because it was nearby.
10.2 After booking, we initially chose the high-performance model. My two sons like to study cars, so we bought the top-of-the-line version with laser technology, which has a higher level of playability. Later, when I joined Wangzixing’s Jiangzhehu group, I learned that buying a Luminar laser radar was very cost-effective. Luminar’s 1550nm laser radar is much more expensive than the 950nm one. The investment analysis report from CITIC Securities also stated that Luminar’s laser radar has strong competitiveness in the future. Other reviews are meaningless. Do you want to invest in such expensive technology?
In late November, I was told by a friend in the Jiangzhehu group that there might be delays in the delivery of Luminar’s laser radar until 2022.
What the hell? After hearing this, I was about to collapse. Are they trying to kill me?
I began to take action. I contacted the Zhengzhou division of Enovate, which is a subsidiary of SAIC, and hired a lawyer to review the contract and address issues regarding refunds and compensation if the car cannot be delivered by the deadline. The lawyer suggested setting a deadline and negotiating with the company. If they fail to deliver the car on time, I should receive a refund with compensation, or sue them. We banded together to make things difficult for them. (I have dealt with many companies before, such as Nike, Ctrip, and China Mobile. These companies never reached the point of litigation; the problem was always resolved.)
At the same time, I began to search for other cars. Avita 11 and NIO ES7 and ES6 reentered the picture. I quickly contacted NIO’s sales representatives and was informed that there would be ES7 cars available in early December. I considered switching to the ES7 if things did not work out with Enovate. Before this, I had never examined the ES7’s features. After researching the features of the ES7 and ES6, I realized that the price was outrageously high. What is the value-add? Services? Do I really want to spend an extra tens of thousands of dollars just for the NIO brand? Is it not better to spend that amount on listening to music or taking care of my health? I gave up.
I contacted Avita 11, and after some discussion, I was informed that the car might be available in December. I paid more than 5000 RMB to reserve a spot and quickly requested a speedy process to acquire the car. However, after joining the Avita owners’ group, I was informed that those who placed their orders earlier still did not know when they would receive their cars by February next year. Once again, I was fooled. I requested a refund. Before I entered the battle mode, my car was matched up. Wow haha. So let’s continue waiting.
There were various prompts in between. The first batch of cars arrived after the unsealing in our city, but not mine. So I kept urging. Finally, my car was matched with a flatbed truck in the second batch and began transporting to Zhengzhou.
On December 11th, my car may have arrived at the delivery center, but the delivery center does not work on weekends. My delivery specialist also did not receive notice of the arrival of the car, so I took my child myself to the delivery center to take a look and walk around. When we got there, there was no one at the delivery center, and a laser-equipped car was parked outside. I checked the frame number and saw it was my car! I took a few pictures with my two sons. They were also extremely excited to see the car.
After we finished looking at the car, I took my son to experience the late autumn. There is a large park next to the delivery center, and the fallen leaves have not been cleaned up yet.
During this period, I constantly urged the delivery center to do the PDI and give me the card number so I can pay. I don’t need a complicated delivery process. I don’t need a ceremony. I just want to be a boss. I bought a NIO and that’s enough, isn’t it?
However, the state-owned enterprise is different. I had to urge them three times to transfer the money. They asked me to check the car before paying. What’s the point of checking? It has a lifetime warranty. If there is a problem, I’ll come find you. After they applied to their leader, they asked me to transfer the money first. This is not like other brands where you pay first before the car arrives.
On the night of the 13th, I was allowed to pay, so I chose the license plate and bought insurance.
On the 14th, I went to the delivery center to pick up the car. The delivery specialist said, “I have never seen anyone as simple and fast as you. You don’t even need to tie a red string. Where do all these complications come from? Do I still have to ask for your gratitude?”

Thirdly, the reason we bought this car is that it first met my four criteria for choosing a car, and secondly, it really looks great. For women, looks are enough. I didn’t even look at the rest of the cars we had screened, nor did I have the time to do so.There is no technical content in the car delivery sticker. Starting today, the formal evaluation will begin. Please stay tuned for the next energy consumption test.
