As of the end of February this year, the number of insured Li Auto ONEs reached 2,525. For some potential buyers of Li Auto ONE, the question is whether to buy or not.
But whether it is worth buying is the more crucial question.
In the second issue of “Car Owner Reviews”, I interviewed three real owners of Li Auto ONE, hoping to tell you how the car is through their real feelings.
But some friends have also told me that relying on the expressions of only three owners may be somewhat accidental.
In that case, I have found 10 owners to express their feelings about their use and to tell everyone whether the Li Auto ONE is worth buying. This includes some pros and cons of the Li Auto ONE, as well as some suggestions from owners to potential buyers of the car.
As the interview content has a lot of words, I divided this interview into two parts. Interested friends can look forward to the second part.

“Users are not stupid and always choose what suits them best.”
Jademo said this when asked about whether the Li Auto ONE is worth buying.
According to Jademo, he had been paying attention to Li Auto’s SEV before, “I was quite interested in it, but unfortunately it didn’t go on sale.” Regarding the SEV, he expressed regret.
Later, he saw the news that Li Auto was preparing to release a new car on Weibo, which aroused his interest again. He told me that he had been paying attention to the Li Auto ONE since its launch.
As for the latest news about the Li Auto ONE, he said that he got most of it from the Li Auto interest group No. 42, which he joined in March last year.
“I have test-driven a Model S before, and I have not forgotten my desire for electric power. I have also followed NIO. But the prices of Tesla and NIO are a bit high, so I have been hesitant.” Jademo said.
As he has been paying attention to it for a long time, Jademo visited Li Auto’s Changzhou factory in April last year, “At that time, most car enthusiasts had not yet seen the real car, and could only try the ride, not the test drive.”
In the same month, he took his friend to the Shanghai Auto Show to see the Li Auto ONE.It’s August now, and Jademo went to the ideal Suzhou retail store with his family to see the car. “At that time, we decided to buy it and made an appointment for a concentrated test drive in early September.” Jademo told me that he was very excited when he drove the ideal ONE for the first time, but it was more important to let his family try it. “My mother was quite indifferent to this car at first, but on the way back from the test drive, she kept discussing the ideal ONE with me, and basically didn’t like other cars on the road.” Although I casually agreed, I was particularly happy in my heart, which shows that my taste is good. ” Talking about his mother’s reaction to the ideal ONE, Jademo was proud like a child praised by his parents.
In late November, as a car owner experience officer, Jademo went to the factory to test drive the 2020 new car. “I felt a sense of mission and pride for the first time to interact with a car company in such a close range.” Jademo said.
On December 20th, Jademo officially picked up the ideal ONE in Suzhou and became the third car owner of the ideal ONE in Wuxi.
Advantages and disadvantages of ideal ONE
Jademo told me that he was most concerned about pure electric drive and intelligent configuration when he purchased the car this time. What attracted him most about the ideal ONE was the intelligent configuration, including four-screen linkage, L2 assisted driving. “The large space of the ideal ONE is also one of its selling points, but it is not a must-have for me. I only have one child, and I don’t need 6 or 7 seats. It’s just a bonus, because the larger space, the more comfortable for my family to use the car. I usually drive it as a 4-seater.” Jademo said.
Disadvantages
Because the ideal ONE is the first car of a new car company, his expectations were not particularly high. He said that the ideal ONE has some minor flaws, but as long as they can be solved, he can accept them. So he has been using it with this attitude until now. Next, he told me some aspects that did not meet his expectations.
- Energy Consumption
“The power consumption is okay. In winter, the power consumption is between 20 and 22. The fuel consumption is a bit high. I expected it to be within 6 oils for urban road conditions. Actually, the winter urban road conditions are 8.5. However, considering that this car is so large, the energy consumption is acceptable, but I hope it can be further optimized to make it lower.” Jademo said.

- Range extender noise
In terms of range extenders, Jademo said, “No matter whether it is a hybrid or an electric retention mode with a high power level, there will definitely be sound and vibration, which does not affect the mood. It’s just that the sound is not pleasant, like boiling water or washing machine dehydration.
Twice before, when driving with low power levels below 10% and in hybrid mode, the sound of the range extender noticeably increased, and even with rapid acceleration it felt a bit like a tractor.
In the case of electric retention mode, because the power consumption during parking is abnormal (already fixed through OTA), when the power level is below 60%, the range extender also works at full capacity, and the noise is unbearable. It can be said that it destroys the overall sense of luxury. I personally suggest that the range extender speed should not be strongly associated with power requests, but always run in the no-sense zone, so that people forget its existence before it is good.”
- Suspension
Because Jademo’s home is under a high-speed renovation project, the road conditions are not good. In comfort mode, if the driving speed is slightly faster, the body will sway more, and in sport mode it will be a bit stiff. After trying many times, only by reducing the speed can he keep calm.

- A strange sound from inside the car
The sound sometimes occurs when the vehicle is shaking, and Jademo said that it occurs more often when he drives alone, but the engineers on board hardly ever hear it. Therefore, only the sound was confirmed and the source was not identified.
- Advanced driver assistance systems
“The following distance is a bit far, too conservative, and the starting and braking of following vehicles is very close to that of humans, but not smooth enough, and there is room for optimization. There will be a ‘clacking’ sound when the ACC following vehicle brakes and starts, which should be the sound of triggering and releasing the AutoHold mechanism. It is quite obvious and not luxurious enough.”
To sum up, he believes that the main issues are fuel consumption, range extender noise and vibration at low power levels, electric sound, occasional strange sounds, and room for improvement in advanced driving assistance systems. Secondly, the steering wheel damping is not delicate enough and not as smooth as the luxury fuel car he has driven. Occasionally, there are also “clicking” sounds when adjusting the seat.

Cheaper Charging
Because the property management of Jademo’s community does not agree to install charging piles, he uses fast charging near his workplace during lunch breaks. It costs 1.06 yuan per kilowatt-hour, which is much cheaper than gasoline. He mainly enjoys the pure electric driving experience and is willing to charge once or twice a week. He roughly calculated that it costs about 0.5 yuan per kilometer.

“In the price range of over 300,000 yuan, the configuration and materials of the Ideal ONE are very competitive, with high cost performance. Personally, I have enough confidence and tolerance for Li Xiang and Ideal, so I am very satisfied with it.

Tips for Potential Ideal ONE Buyers
When asked if he had any suggestions for potential Ideal ONE buyers, Jademo said: “The last thing I want to say to users who want to buy this car is ‘support domestic products’. Users are not stupid and will always choose what suits them best.
Therefore, if I recommend this to others, I first hope that they have an open-minded attitude towards new things, are willing to accept new technologies, and actively experience and share.
Secondly, combining with their own interests and usage scenarios, comprehensive comparison and personal trial should be the basis for making a decision.”

Regarding Ideal Motors, Chenxizhiyue said it should be viewed correctly.
At first, Chenxizhiyue didn’t know about Ideal. He was initially interested in NIO. After watching NIO’s first launch event, he even went to Beijing to test drive the ES8.
However, because of work and life in Guizhou, he felt that range anxiety was a big problem, so he gave up after the test drive.
It was through NIO that he learned about Ideal. “There are many articles about NIO that inadvertently mention Ideal, and then I started following it. This gave me some food for thought. Some publicity is unintentional,” said Chenxizhiyue.”

He has no interest in MPVs like Odyssey, but the space requirement of the Ideal ONE satisfies him. He also thought that he was beyond the age to buy BBA cars, and there might be some configurations that BBA didn’t have.

However, he believes that there are still many defects and deficiencies in the product itself. He said that there is still a lot of room for improvement in product maturity. The biggest flaw is that the NVH control of the range extender is not satisfactory. “I went back to my hometown in Hubei this time, and when the range extender was engaged, I felt that the NVH was too high, especially on the uphill sections,” The Moon at Dawn said.

For example, the displayed map on the dashboard is too small, and the simulated clock display has problems. The hour and minute hands are of the same length and it is difficult to distinguish the time, which is just a decoration.
There is also a problem where the fuel gauge does not display the numerical value when the remaining oil is less than 50 kilometers. The efficiency of the range extender needs further optimization, the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) of the extender needs further control, and the audio system needs further improvement (the audio system is basically inaudible above speeds of 120 km/h). Recommendation: 5 stars. With the birth of his child, Mr. Zhang planned to buy a large car with ample space.
In 2018, he watched the Ideal car launch online. “At that time, I didn’t make up my mind because I thought the estimated price of 400,000 RMB (I guessed around 388,900 RMB) was a bit high. I didn’t even go register for a number. But I kept following it.” Mr. Zhang said.
Around December 2018, while waiting at a red light, Mr. Zhang suddenly thought of going to register for Ideal’s car number. “Since it was free, who knows if I’ll need it.” he said. He registered for a number with a rank of 35,000. However, he later regretted it, saying “I kept regretting it during the car delivery process, why didn’t I register for a number during the launch event?”

Also, there is a small detail of use in the ideal App. When Jamie clicks to remote start the air conditioning, if the phone is not connected to the vehicle at this time, he will be prompted to connect the vehicle before starting the air conditioning. He hopes that the App can automatically connect to the vehicle and send out the remote start air conditioning command.
As for the ideal ONE, he also suggests to cancel the function of “After turning off ACC, if you restart ACC within 120 seconds, ACC will automatically restore to the last set cruise speed”.
As for the reason, he said, “This function is suitable for use on highways, but in urban roads, the speed limit can vary greatly before and after 120 seconds.
For example, I use cruise control on a high-speed expressway with a speed limit of 80, and then enter a city road with a speed limit of 40 from the ramp to the ground. At this time, when I turn on ACC again, the default speed limit is still 80, and the car will automatically accelerate, which is somewhat scary.”
In other aspects, Jamie believes that the storage space of the ideal ONE is not advantageous compared to some other car models. For example, there is no small drawer for coins and cards, and there is no glasses box. Also, because there is equipment under the trunk cover board, it cannot be used to store things.
